The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner 240ml is a water-based exfoliating toner formulated with 7% glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that helps remove dead surface skin cells and improve the appearance of uneven texture, dullness and uneven skin tone.

With regular use, this exfoliating toner helps reveal smoother, more luminous and more even-looking skin while reducing the visible appearance of fine lines and textural irregularities. The formula has a carefully balanced pH of approximately 3.5–3.9 to support effective glycolic acid exfoliation.

The formula also contains Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water and amino acids. Tasmanian Pepperberry helps reduce the irritation commonly associated with acid exfoliation, while amino acids support skin hydration and Ginseng helps improve the appearance of uneven skin tone.

In addition to facial use, The Ordinary also identifies this formula as suitable for targeted application to rough body areas and the scalp. On the scalp, it can help support hydration and reduce the appearance of dryness.

How to Use — Face & Neck

Apply once daily, preferably in the evening, after cleansing.

Apply to the face and neck using a cotton pad or fingertips. Avoid the eye contour and contact with the eyes.

Do not rinse.

If you are new to glycolic acid or direct acids, The Ordinary recommends starting around 2–3 times per week and increasing frequency gradually according to tolerance.

Scalp Use

Apply to a dry scalp up to three times per week. Use the dispensing nozzle to distribute the toner from the front toward the back of the scalp and gently massage.

Do not rinse.

Important Usage Notes

Do not apply to sensitive, peeling, irritated or compromised skin. Patch testing before regular use is recommended.

Because this formula contains an AHA, it can increase sensitivity to sunlight. Use sunscreen, protective clothing and limit excessive sun exposure while using the product and for approximately one week afterward.

The Ordinary also advises against combining it in the same skincare regimen with other direct acids, retinoids, peptides, copper peptides and certain direct vitamin C formulas because doing so may increase incompatibility or irritation risk.
